About Magaziner Law, P.A.

Our founding attorney, Gavin Magaziner, is a native Floridian whose training, experience, and military background have molded him into a motivated, disciplined, and dependable attorney.

Growing up, Gavin’s father was a certified building contractor, which was the genesis of his interest and knowledge in the construction industry.

Following high school in Miami, Florida, Gavin attended the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 2001. Following UF, Gavin attended Stetson University College of Law, where he earned a Juris Doctor degree in 2004.

Lawyer, Public Defender, Combat Engineer

Upon admission to The Florida Bar, Gavin gained significant trial experience while working at the Public Defender’s Office for the 6th Circuit.  Additionally, his seven years of military service, which includes service time as both a combat engineer (“Essayons!”) and a commissioned officer in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps (“Soldier first, lawyer always!”), added to his trial and litigation experience.

Substantial Litigation Experience

A large portion of his career as a judge advocate was spent in a litigation-type practice, both prosecuting and defending soldiers charged with violations of the law or the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Gavin was selected as a founding member and the second most senior officer of the initial team chosen to serve as the first specialized unit designed exclusively for criminal defense litigation practice within the Florida Army National Guard, as part of the Southeast Region Trial Defense Service. Gavin left the military in 2012 at the rank of Captain to focus on his career as a full-time civilian lawyer.

Construction Defect Litigation

Gavin has significantly concentrated his civil litigation career on construction defect and liability claims. Since 2018, he has centered it almost exclusively around the field of construction law, largely focusing on the representation of contractors, subcontractors, and materialmen.

With more than 15 years of experience in civil, criminal, and military litigation, Gavin has tried over 40 trials. He is authorized to practice before all state courts in Florida as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for 11th Circuit.

In his free time, Gavin enjoys reading, fishing, camping, urban homesteading, and spending time with his wife and four children.
